The third of ten group exhibitions planned by Le Cercle de l'Art, En relation brings together five artists of the Cercle, Margaux Derhy, Nour Awada, Valérie Burnand Grimaldi, Marta Nijhuis and Célia Rakotondrainy, curated by Jeanne Barral, curator at the Fondation Cartier. The exhibition was held at Espace Futur, 16 rue de la Corderie, Paris, during the Cercle's Art Month.
Margaux Derhy presents pieces from her series Studio Mogador 1947, made with the embroiderers of her atelier in Morocco: painting and embroidery on cotton and on silk, in five movements, Préludes, Murmures, Signes, Éveil and Dénouement, which trace a young girl's path to emancipation and ask how one builds oneself from one's roots.
The exhibition allowed her to see her works in dialogue with those of her fellow artists. The installation was photographed by Romain Darnaud.
