La mémoire des gestes

During the week of the 1-54 fair in Marrakech, Galerie 208 presents the exhibition La mémoire des gestes at the Mandarin Oriental, opened on 7 February 2026 and on view until 6 April.

Margaux Derhy shows To the One I Love, a series made for the first time in sfiffa passementerie, the Moroccan passementerie the Sidi R'bat atelier has been exploring for a few months and which is transforming her visual vocabulary. The large hand-embroidered pieces on cotton, up to 150 × 230 cm, are shown in dialogue with four more intimate works from the Archives de la tendresse masculine.

These works explore the ordinary forms of love and their unexpected depth over time. As in Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse, Margaux Derhy seeks to capture the unsuspected intensity revealed by seemingly conventional relationships.
